Summary
- Dairy farms in particular represent a large source of potential nutrients and contaminants. Management of these sources – milking center waste, manure, bedding, silage, etc – must be carefully managed.
- Any barnyard can contribute to pollution or water contamination, so practices to improve barnyard cleanliness and reduce the risk of runoff are essential.
